Studenci studiów dziennych SGH uczestniczą w bieżącym semestrze w pierwszym, międzynarodowym wykładzie online – Rationality and Moral Choice. Wykład prowadzony jest w ramach Porozumienia pomiędzy SGH oraz University of Illinois, Springfield, USA. Amerykańscy i polscy studenci w jednej grupie uczą się, prowadzą dyskusje i wspólne projekty. Grupą opiekuje się dwóch nauczycieli akademickich, reprezentujących macierzyste uczelnie. Wykład został uruchomiony na nowej, anglojęzycznej platformie e-learningowej e-sgh – http://www.e-sgh.com. Polska Agencja Rozwoju Przedsiębiorczości (PARP) uruchomiła internetowe szkolenia przeznaczone dla przedsiębiorców oraz osób, które chcą rozpocząć działalność gospodarczą. Dostępne są szkolenia dotyczące zakładania firmy, metod analizy rynku, przygotowania biznesplanu oraz korzystania z funduszy unijnych. Bierze w nich udział ponad 1,35 tys. osób. Koszt przygotowania platformy informatycznej oraz szkoleń online dla PARP wyniósł 0,5 mln zł. Przetarg na te usługi, rozstrzygnięty przez Agencję pod koniec 2004 roku, wygrało konsorcjum czterech firm.
Szkolenia są bezpłatne i dostępne pod adresem internetowym: www.akademia.parp.gov.pl.

Recent research, from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), indicates that over half of organisations (54%) use e-learning. It is used to deliver up to 10% of current training by time – and this is set to more than double. For decades, instructors have used games to facilitate student learning. More recently, the availability of the World Wide Web and Web authoring tools have greatly expanded the opportunities for instructors to utilize online learning games. Web-based learning games would appear to have particular appeal to the "digital generation" of learners who have grown up playing computer and video games. However few previous studies have evaluated the use of online learning games. This study addresses this issue through the application of an online game called FlashGame, developed using Macromedia Flash(TM), in two mass sections of an introductory information systems course. A survey was administered at mid- semester to assess participants' usage and perceptions of this game. Since web-based learning games are at an early stage of development, the findings provide important insight and raise implications for instructors about the use of online games to support student learning.

Leading consortium of universities to offer first ever special 8 week accelerated semester to keep students learning.
The Sloan Consortium, an international association of colleges and universities committed to quality online education, is offering students displaced by Hurricane Katrina an opportunity to continue their education at no cost. In collaboration with the Southern Regional Education Board and with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the special accelerated program will provide a wide range of courses to serve the learning needs of students at the community college, university and graduate level, regardless of academic discipline. These courses will be given by major universities and other Sloan Consortium members.

28,2 proc. Polaków powyżej 15 roku życia korzysta z internetu - wynika z najnowszych badań NetTrack, przeprowadzonych między majem a lipcem 2005 roku, przez SMG/KRC. Ponad połowa użytkowników internetu (50,4 proc.) korzysta z internetu codziennie lub prawie codziennie, a 24,9 proc. kilka razy w tygodniu. Polacy najczęściej korzystają z internetu w domu (65,9 proc.), w pracy (22,5 proc.) oraz na uczelni lub w szkole (19,6 proc.). Polacy łączą się z domu z internetem przede wszystkim za pomocą stałego łącza (51,3 proc.), a jedynie 12 proc. korzysta z modemu.
